Description	James E. Pomfret graduated from the College of Business in 1948 and became the chief accountant for the U of A. In 1951, he was promoted to purchasing agent and in 1954 promoted to comptroller. In 1957, he became business manager and in 1958 became the Vice President for Business, a position he held until his death in 1967. Pomfret Hall is named for him.
